I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Riding in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride is not about looking polished. It is about using what you already do; showing up on a motorcycle, gathering with other riders, making a morning out of something that could have been just another weekend; and pointing it at something that actually needs it.

Men's health is the cause. Mental health and prostate cancer research are the part that stays in the room. Those are not abstract topics for a lot of riders. They are the kind of thing that shows up in a club, a shop, a garage, a family, a friendship that gets quieter for a while and nobody wants to name it.

That is why the ride matters. It gives the community a place to gather that is not only about the bikes. It is a way of saying that the people on two wheels can do more than make noise and look sharp. They can turn a ride into something that helps.

If you are part of it, the best thing you can bring is not a perfect outfit or a photogenic machine. It is the willingness to show up for the cause and for the people around you. Ride like you meant to be there. Talk to the riders you do not already know. Make the morning about more than the route.

And if you are not riding, the point is the same: pay attention to the men in your life, including the ones who look fine and are not necessarily fine. That is the quieter half of the work. It matters just as much.
